DexterFor a group that has the word “television” in their name, they sure do seem to have a lot of problems with it.

The Parents TV Council is calling for advertisers to boycott Dexter, saying that CBS didn’t do enough editing of the show when they broadcast the Showtime drama on its own network last Sunday night. The PTC says that CBS broke their promise when they stated they were going to edit the show to network standards and that “depictions of violence were barely modified from the Showtime network original format.”

American Idol judgesHere are the weekly Television ratings, by number of viewers.

There’s good news and bad news about this list. The good news is that we live in a world where a great show like Lost, now in its fourth season and in a new time slot, can still come in at #4. The same thing with 60 Minutes, which has been on forever. The bad news? We live in a world where Deal Or No Deal takes up three of the top twenty spots (including two in the top ten). Ugh.
