Tom ColicchioBravo is capitalizing on the success of its reality shows by moving beyond the small screen. Thanks to several new business partnerships, the cable network is extending the Top Chef brand by offering a Top Chef cruise, cooking classes, and a calendar. There are also plans for a fitness DVD starring Work Out’s Jackie Warner.

Former Top Chef contestants will participate in these new ventures and take part in a nationwide tour as well. The twenty-city tour begins on May 18 in New Orleans. Fans can meet the contestants, get gourmet cooking tips, and watch cooking demonstrations. ReaperWe told you recently about Reaper star Bret Harrison’s blog posting about sending your socks to The CW, to get them to renew the devil comedy, which is “on the bubble.” Now it looks like those socks might be going to the wrong place.

On her Television Guide blog, Valarie Rae Miller discloses that a lot of socks that viewers have sent in have actually gone to the old WB offices! As she puts it, “no one will see them but some security guard and an unhappy mail carrier.” She also gives the correct address to send your socks to:

Dan Cutforth and Jane LipsitzWhile Project Runway may be switching to Lifetime next year, the creators of the show are staying put. Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz have given first look to any new projects of theirs to NBC Universal. As a result, the duo had a choice of either going to Lifetime or staying with NBC.

Last year, the Weinstein Company made a deal with Lifetime for $150 million to broadcast five years of the hit reality show. Culforth and Lipsitz, whose production company is called Magical Elves, acknowledged the tough choice they had to make.

Psych

Sometimes reruns from a cable series can do rather well on network TV as a bigger audience pool checks them out. That wasn’t the case with Monk and Psych.

The two USA network hits (often in the top 10 in the Nielsen cable ratings) didn’t fare too well when NBC ran them on Sunday nights the past couple of months, so the Peacock Network is pulling the shows immediately. Fans of The Office will be happy to hear that NBC will air a two hour marathon of Office repeats in the 9 to 11 time slot. That’s, until they decide to put another reality show at that time.

Jennifer Love HewittShhhh…here’s some huge news about CBS’ Ghost Whisperer: it’s been picked up by not one, not two, but three different cable networks.

CBS has sold the rights for the Jennifer Love Hewitt, Friday night supernatural drama to the Sci-Fi Channel, WE Television, and ION. I love how the CBS TV Distribution Vice-President says in the article that the show “is about a strong woman who owns her own business and is married to a firefighter, so women relate to that.” He left out the part about talking to ghosts. But it should fit in well at the Sci-Fi Channel (ghosts) and WE (strong woman). I’ve no idea what ION has for programming, but if it’s mostly programming about women who own their own small business and speak to ghosts, then they’ve struck gold with this pick up.

The show sold for $700,000 an episode. Lost is also going to begin airing on the Sci-Fi Channel, this fall.
